God is good… all the time! Remember that time is a gift of God. We must use each moment immediately or it is gone forever. It’s hard to believe that 50 years has passed since my first experience with CBMC. Obviously, it was an outreach meeting that shaped my perspective for the last half century. Little did I know then, that the Lord would use me to direct and lead CBMC Canada as President!
Since the Fall of 2018, I shared with the CBMC Board that I plan to be retiring in 2019. Since that time numerous discussions have taken place about the transfer of leadership and processes have begun and are moving along.
This is to inform you that I will be retiring as President and CEO of CBMC Canada effective Aug. 1, 2019. My wife Barb and I have moved to Florida to begin the next, and no doubt the final, chapter of our life serving the Lord.
Retired, yes. Leaving CBMC, its mission and vision, no! I have offered to work with the leadership up until and even beyond the point when a new President is named.
In the interim, Board Member Ben Hoeppner will step into the position as interim until the Lord shows us a suitable person.
I believe that our best days are still ahead of us. Knowing the projects that we are working on is encouraging. I will be either watching or involved as they are implemented.
Please keep faithful in your prayer AND financial support of this great ministry. I leave you in this letter with two verses from the Apostle Paul:
1) Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20, 21)
2) To them (the Lord’s people) God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature (fully disciplined and therefore a disciple-maker) in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. (i.e. with every ounce of strength that the Lord gives me!) (Colossians 1:27-29)
May that also be said of all of us as we march toward the time when we meet Christ face to face. Let’s stretch ourselves out of our comfort zone and become that fully devoted follower of Jesus that God designed and gifted us to be!
